Hop growing and processing

Among the basic activities of the professional task Technology of hop production and processing are observation and forecasting of the most important diseases and pests, monitoring of new pests and diseases in hop, prognosis for irrigation, yield and technological maturity of certain hop varieties, and recommendations for fertilization. Processing meteorological data for the purpose of monitoring hop growth and development and determining the optimum time for the application of pesticides and fertilizers is also an important segment, as is the economics of hop production and marketing, which includes model calculations of costs in hop production and analysis of the global market of hops.

Another area of this professional task is carrying out research in the field of technology of hop production, with the aim of achieving a stable yield of good quality, enabling the competitiveness of the industry. On the basis of an appropriate set of field trials, we can achieve improvements in the technology of hop production for our region.
