Short CV
Dr. Sebastjan Radišek completed his studies in agronomy in 1998 at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. He then continued his education at the same faculty, enrolling in an interdisciplinary postgraduate study of biotechnology, where he completed his master’s degree in 2001 with a thesis titled “Analysis of hop wilt pathogens (Verticillium spp.) using molecular markers and artificial hop infections.” In 2004, he defended his doctoral thesis titled “Molecular variability in fungi (Verticillium albo-atrum Reinke et Berthold and Verticillium dahliae Klebahn) and the development of pathotype-specific markers.” His main research areas include diagnostics, epidemiology, plant-pathogen interactions, and the development of disease management strategies. Most of his research work focuses on diseases of hops and vegetables, with a particular emphasis on research into soil fungi, viruses, and viroids.
