According to the Plant Protection Products Act – PPPs Act (ZFfS-1) (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia nr. 83/2012) and Rules on training on plant protection products (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia nr.85/2013) all professional users, PPP salespersons, advisors on PPPs and other persons endeavouring to become certified as proficient in phytomedicine must undertake training in the handling of PPPs. Information obtained in the training courses gives trainees knowledge about IPM, use, handling and disposal of PPP and health risks.
The Slovenian Institute of Hop research and brewing is one of the authorised institutions (public authority is granted by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection) for the implementation of training in the handling of plant protection products (PPPs) and for the issuing of training identification cards for:
- Professional users and other persons trained in the handling of PPPs (hereinafter referred to as operators),
- PPP salespersons, or
- advisors on PPPs.
Training programs are for the moment organised only in the Slovenian language.
