There has recently been a significant increase in activity in the brewery area in the world and in Slovenia, which is reflected in the establishment of new small breweries, with specific production technologies. Given the relatively low availability of proper brewing expertise and the fact that breweries do not have their own comprehensive research and development work, there is interest in cooperation in scientific research and application.
The Institute performs laboratory analysis of raw materials, intermediates in the technological process and finished products for breweries and cooperates in solving their technological problems. Professional support for small breweries is established at all levels. In the past, we actively participated in the preparation of professional standards and catalogues of knowledge and skills for the brewing profession. We have also developed an appropriate form of education, which will be upgraded in the future, since also development in the field of brewing does not stand still.
