The Biotechnology Laboratory, with its personnel and equipment, supports various professional and research tasks of the Institute. Various tissue culture techniques (eg. for preservation of Slovenian hop varieties, medical and aromatic plants, development of virus- and viroid- free plants) are applied, together with PCR molecular methods (for variety identification, application of molecular markers in breeding program).
