Testing the value of hops for production and use

The main purpose of the task of testing the value of hops for cultivation and use is to ensure the functioning of the official testing system for hop varieties to support the Slovenian Food Safety Administration, Veterinary and Plant Protection Directorate, Plant Health and Seed Sector in making decisions in administrative procedures for registering hop varieties on the variety list, as well as for the quality and timely implementation of activities in this field. These activities include testing the values of new hop breds for cultivation and use, which are submitted for registration in the Slovenian variety list according to the Testing Method for Value of Hop Varieties for Cultivation and Use (VPU) – Hops (Humulus lupulus L.) (UVHVVR-VPU/1/3 of February 1, 2022).
