At the Institute we also producting herbs on the large area. In the past, this chamomile, mint, lemon balm, in recent years purple cone flower (Echinacea purpurea Moench). Growing herbs in a large area is closely associated with the buy or sale of produce. Farmers which are cooperators of Lek by seedlings in Institute. At Institute we grown purple cone flower (Echinacea purpurea Moench) on approximately 0.5 hectares. Processing and harvesting is carried out mechanically.
Cultivation of some medicinal plants that we use for our own tea takes place in larger areas (100 – 200 m2) and is inside the Medicinal and aromatic plant garden in the experimental part. In 2016 we producted echinacea, mint, lemon balm, valerian, verbena and the sweet wormwood. Within these areas we implemented experiments of different agro-technical measures (eg. planting on foil, irrigation …).
