Kratek življenjepis
In 2013, I completed my undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Ljubljana with a diploma thesis titled “Identification of WIPK kinase targets in potato” (Prof. Dr. Kristina Gruden, NIB). During my studies, I acquired both basic knowledge in general and organic chemistry, physics, mathematics, cell biology, and more specific knowledge in biochemistry, microbiology, enzymology, molecular genetics, plant biochemistry, biotechnology, environmental chemistry, immunology, informatics, and many other fields.
From October 2013 to 2020, I was a student at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana, pursuing a doctoral degree in Bio-Science, Biotechnology program, while working as a young researcher at IHPS in the field of plant diseases, particularly researching viroids in hops. As part of my doctoral studies, I worked on the development of new technologies, diagnostic methods, and epidemiological studies. I defended my doctoral dissertation titled “Biology of the Citrus Bark Cracking Viroid (CBCVd) and Development of Methods for Detecting Viroids in Hops” in October 2020. I also actively participate in various projects, including working on the project “Development of Technologies for Preventing New Viroid Diseases in Hops (V4-1405),” the applied project “Analysis of Plant Responses to Concurrent Viroid Infections and Identification of Resistance (L4-6809),” Life BioTHOP, and others. In October 2022, I started working on a postdoctoral project titled “Development and Implementation of Crispr/Cas Diagnostics for Field Detection of the Citrus Bark Cracking Viroid (CBCVd) in Hops (Humulus lupulus L.).”
